S410 issues

Post by montenis » 07 Apr 2017, 20:24

Hello,

currently we are testing TVIP S410 boxes for our project and found some issiues.

First one - You do have a good Lithuanian translation for all the menu, but there is no option for prefered Lithuanian audio track.
Second issue is with hls streams that have more languages, tested many sources and allmost all exibit the same problem: stream starts to work unstable if you change audio track. Allso changing audio track is not rememebered. This is all tested using stallker middleware as middleware server. Stalker versions tested are: 4.9.35 and 5.1

Hi, we will add Lithuanian audio track selection in future updates.
Audio selection for HLS is not supported for all cases. If you are using Flussonic, you need to use links ending at "video.m3u8" instead of "index.m3u8".

Than You for the answer,

we are not using flussonic, but our own sollutions. As i have read on flussonics support page, video.m3u8 is mpegts encapsulated in hls. It has video, and multiple audio streams in it.

This is what is written on flussonic page:
To watch a multi-language stream using VLC or a set-top box, the video.m3u8 mode must be turned on.
This is due to the Apple HLS requirement of a separate playlist with an audio-only option for each individual language. MPEG-TS uses another algorithm: all audio tracks run side by side with the video, and it is up to the player which one to play. So, to make sure the video is viewable on iPhone, it must satisfy the requirements of Apple. At the same time, VLC and STBs, in violation of the HLS standard, expect the old version of MPEG-TS converted to HLS. This is why video.m3u8 is needed.
As far as i can tell, the streams we produce are like flussonics video.m3u8 output. I will try flussonic's output for comparision when i can.

Thanks.

I am having difficulties with DTS passthrough, audioreceiver does not receive sound track if I select DTS audio track (works OK with Dolby).
Linux OS.

Currently, we do not implement passthrough of DTS.

Are you going to?
I took S605. That one also can not do passthough of DTS (DTS-HD) and EAC. If not that sound issue, I could proudly say S605 is a grate product.

Thanks. I got the most recent update (.13) from my IPTV provider and as you wrote it has DTS - awesome!
Could your team check E-AC3 passthrough functionality? Now S605 can only send stereo to audio receiver, but not the original audio stream.
