Broken subtitles - MAG API

Post by floydian79 » 21 May 2019, 19:41

Hi, I have an S605 and using MAG portal.

After the 4.2.6 beta update subtitles are not showing anymore. I have read the update changelog and it says something about a fix for subtitles management in MAG API but for me it's the exact opposite...

Does anyone else have this problem and is there any fix? Or is there any way to downgrade to the previous version?

same thing here. S410 do not recognize any of the audio or subtitle stream languages, and shows them as Track1, Track2 and Subtitles1, Subtitles2 what make automatic audio and subtitle selecting impossible. After choosing subtitle track manually, no subtitles appear on the screen. fw. 4.2.6, MAG API with Stalker 4.9.x. All the MAG's (250, 254, 322 etc.) works fine with same portal and streams.

I am looking for replacement to MAG254's, what are not produced any more and all the newer STB's from Infomir are more expensive and not much better. Trying TVIP boxes, but various problems with integration to my current IPTV system make me worry.

After some browsing around, I discovered, that recorded shows is with subtitles and everything works.
For live streaming I use HLS streams, and maybe subtitle problem is related to that?

What kind of MAG portal do you have? Is it Stalker?

Hi and thanks for your responses,. TBH I am not sure if am using a stalker portal but after some Google search I think yes. It's there a way to find out?

BTW I know that subtitles do not work on VOD media, I do not have any iptv channels that work with subtitles.

Same issue here as well.
No subtitles when using MAG option.
Subtitles work however when using M3U option.
This despite live or VOD channels
