S412 new firmware

Post by cnyn2018 » 02 Mar 2019, 13:00

My TVIP s-box S412 has firmware 4.0.26 (24.10.2018) installed , but I see in the Wiki.Tvip page, (https://wiki.tvip.ru/en/tvipstb_changelog/s410/linux-qt) that there is a new version 4.1.9 (19.02.2019) beta ... how to do the update?

By OTA, in the Tvip S412 when searching for update, nothing appears... if I switch searching to Beta, nothing appears too.

How do I upgrade to 4.1.9 (19.02.2019) beta?

Hi,

Sorry to hear that.
Could you, please, provide MAC address of your box?

I had the same problem. As usual I did more than one thing and one of the things solved the problem....
I switched to beta-channel. cnyn2018 said he did that and it didn't work so that probably wasn't it.
I also switched dns. I use pihole and opendns (family shield) and swicthed the whole thing off.

After these two steps i got it working again.

Just do it like this (just did it and it works perfect):
1) Check which version is the newest for the S41.x - box & linux. Do it here: https://wiki.tvip.ru/en/tvipstb_changelog/s410/linux-qt
Right now it´s 4.1.12 (06.03.2019) beta
2) Download the zip-file from here: http://tvipupdate.net/stb/s412/linux-qt ... re.ota.zip
3) Put the zip-file on a USB-stick (FAT32)
4) Boot up the TVIP and press "del" repeatedly to get into the "recovery console"
5) Use your remote to choose "update from udisk"
6) when it´s finished, just reboot. ALL GOOD!

Glad to help!
